Help for members impacted by the November wildfire emergency in California

We’re taking steps to help our members impacted by the wildfires throughout California during the month of November. If you’re affected and live in Butte, Los Angeles or Ventura County, here’s what you should know:

  • If you’re on an Anthem prescription drug plan, you can refill lost or damaged prescriptions at any pharmacy now.
  • Time limits for prior authorization, precertification or referrals will be relaxed — there will be no late penalties.
  • You can get medical equipment (also called Durable Medical Equipment or DME) if yours was lost or damaged.
  • You can see an out-of-network provider (a doctor or provider that’s not in our health plan) if in-network providers are not available because of the fires, or if you’re out of the area due to displacement from the fires.
  • You and your doctors are being given more time to file claims, if needed.
  • If you use a mail order pharmacy, you can change your address by calling the Customer Care Center.

This is in effect starting November 8, 2018.

If you need help, call the Customer Care Center.
