Since Medicaid was signed into law in 1965, all states and U.S. territories have programs designed to provide health coverage for low-income families and individuals.

The Nevada Check Up program began providing services to children on October 1, 1998. It is authorized under the Social Security Act and was established by Congress to provide access to affordable health insurance for children in working, low-income families. Various legislative acts have provided funding for continuation of the program.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Healthcare Solutions is a Medicaid managed care plan in Nevada. We provide health care benefits to people who are eligible for the Nevada Medicaid and Check Up programs. We’ve been serving members in urban Clark and Washoe counties since 2009.

Nevada Medicaid is health insurance that helps many people who can't afford medical care pay for some or all of their medical bills. It is available only to certain low-income individuals and families in Nevada who fit into an eligibility group that is recognized by federal and state law. Nevada Check Up is the State of Nevada’s Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
