Get more from us with HIP Plus

HIP Plus is the preferred plan for all HIP members. It gives you the best bang for your buck, offering dental care, vision services and no copays.

What is Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) Plus?

As a HIP member, you get all the standard health care benefits to help keep you healthy. This includes care from doctors, specialists and hospitals.

But with HIP Plus, you get benefits beyond what you expect like:

  • Dental care.
  • Vision care.
  • Enhanced pharmacy services.
  • Extra physical, speech and occupational therapy.

Also, Anthem offers these extra benefits only to our HIP Plus members who qualify:

  • Weight Watchers® membership
  • YMCA® gym membership
  • TASC assistance (high school equivalency)
  • Personal exercise kit

For a full list of extras and conditions that apply, go to Additional benefits or view your member handbook.

Why should I choose HIP Plus?

It offers the best value. With HIP Plus, you don't have all the copays* you have with HIP Basic. These copays are:

  • $4 to $8 each time you go to the doctor and for each prescription.
  • As high as $75 if you are admitted to the hospital.

With HIP Plus, you have a monthly payment called a contribution. It’s based on your income and can be as low as $1 a month. This helps you manage your health care and your budget. Find out how much your monthly contribution would be at the state of Indiana's calculator.

*The only HIP Plus copay is for using the emergency room when it's not an emergency.

How much does dental care cost?
Without dental benefits, you pay out-of-pocket costs for your dental care.

How do I sign up?

You can switch to HIP Plus within the first 60 days of enrollment and when it's time to renew your benefits each year. We'll send you reminders when it's time to switch!
