Welcome To Anthem! We're Happy You're Here.
Tips To Help You Get Started
As a new member, we know you have questions, and we want you to get the most out of your benefits. Here are some tips to help you get started with your new health plan.
1. Look For Your Member ID Card.
You should have received your Anthem member ID card in the mail. You’ll use it to go to the doctor, get prescriptions and in case of an emergency. If it’s been more than two weeks since you enrolled, and you didn’t get your card, give us a call at:
2. Create Your Online Account.
To access the secure member area of our website, you'll need to create your account. This will allow you to:
- Change your doctor.
- View or print your member ID card.
- Send a private message to Member Services.
- Manage your prescriptions.
It's quick and easy to create your account! You’ll just need your member ID number (shown on your ID card), your birth date and your ZIP code.

3. Make An Appointment With Your PMP.
Your main doctor is called a primary medical provider, or PMP. Your PMP is listed in your online account. Call to make an appointment with your PMP within 60 days of becoming a member. Getting a checkup now will help your PMP learn about your medical history before any health issues occur.

Help CHANGE how we do healthcare
As a member, you can shape your healthcare experience. Join a Community Health Advisory Network to Gain Equity (CHANGE) Committee or a Caregiver Advocacy Committee (CAC) to make a difference. Meet with local leaders, members, providers, and community partners to share your views. Our meetings take place every quarter and are offered in person and virtually.
Let us know how we are doing:
- Get answers to questions about health plan benefits.
- Learn more about covered services and Anthem extra benefits.
- Offer suggestions that can help us improve our communications and services.
- Share ideas on how Anthem can make it easier for members to get what they need.
Note: You need to renew your benefits each year.
You'll get a notice in the mail when it's time to renew. If you move, tell your Anthem case manager or visit your local Division of Family Resources office to update your address.
5. Complete Your Health Needs Screening.
Earn up to $30 by taking the health needs screening (HNS), a quick and easy health questionnaire. When we know more about your health, we can help you get the right care and services.
