Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS)
We want to help you live in the comforts of your own home or community as independently as possible, for as long as possible. There are several programs that you might qualify for if you need extra help with daily living. An Anthem service coordinator will work with you to develop a plan of care and will help you enroll in one of the programs below or find other resources in your community.
Multi-Purpose Senior Service Program (MSSP)
You may qualify for MSSP services if you:
- Are 65 years or older
- Have a disability
- Are eligible for nursing facility placement, but wish to remain at home
Services may include:
- Adult day care
- Help paying for housing
- Chore and personal care help
- Protective supervision
- Caregiver respite
- Care management
- Rides
- Meal services
- Social services
- Communication services
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
You may qualify for IHSS if you:
- Are age 65 years or older or are blind
- Have a disability
- Are unable to live at home without help
IHSS allows you to hire a caregiver to help you with your daily needs so you can remain safely in your own home.
Services may include:
- Meal prep and cleanup
- Laundry
- Personal care services (such as bathroom assistance, bathing, grooming and paramedical services)
- Grocery shopping and errands
- Rides to medical appointments
- Household and yard cleaning
- Accompaniment to medical appointments
- Protective supervision
Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS)
You may qualify for CBAS if you:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have health problems that make it hard for you to take care of yourself and you need extra help
If you qualify, we’ll send you to the CBAS center that best meets your needs. If there is no center in your area, we’ll make sure you get the services you need from other providers.
Services may include:
- Skilled nursing care
- Social services
- Meals
- Therapies
- Family/caregiver training and support
- Rides
Long-Term Care (LTC)
If you need more care than these programs can provide, your service coordinator can work with you to find other long-term care options in a skilled nursing facility or similar location. To receive LTC services, a written request must be made by your primary care provider (PCP).
