The Major Risk Medical Insurance Program (MRMIP) provides health insurance to Californians who are considered “high-risk” because of pre-existing medical conditions.
You may be eligible for MRMIP through Anthem if you:
- Are not eligible for Medicare Part A and Part B (except for end-stage renal disease)
- Are not eligible for COBRA or Cal-COBRA benefits
- Have been denied individual health coverage within the last 12 months

Formulary (drug list)
The formulary is a list of all brand-name and generic drugs available in your plan. Our Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee reviews and recommends what drugs should be in the formulary. They choose the medications for our drug list based on things like how safe the drug is, how well it works and how much it costs.
Some drugs on the drug list require prior authorization. This means your doctor must get approval from us before he or she can write a prescription for the drug.
Drug interactions and side effects
